Dear friends!

Prague is considered the capital of Alchemy, but why? We would like to offer you a taste of the Middle Ages at Edward Kelly's house on Malostranském náměstí. During the tour we will learn who the patron of alchemical craft was among the Czech rulers, how scientists of the 15th century tried to create the Philosopher's Stone, and what Shakespeare himself had to do with it. The guided tour includes the attic house in which Edward Kelly set up his personal laboratory, an alchemy bar and an introduction to the legend of Faust, around which a thousand legends run.

On January 8, together with the participants of the Cultural Power project, we visited the house-museum of the famous Prague alchemist Edward Kelly. His laboratory was in the attic of his own house. Inside the museum, stories of Faust, equipment for making the Philosopher's Stone, and manuscripts preserved since the 16th century were placed side by side. Rudolph 2 Habsburg became famous as the patron of alchemy in Bohemia, so the history of the house and laboratory has been preserved.

The project is supported by European Solidarity Corps, which offer young people the opportunity to help those in need, to take part in solving societal problems and to work for a more inclusive society.
